Day 1: ARRIVAL

Our tour guide and driver will transfer you to your hotel in Kampala. Depending on the time of arrival, you will go to a forex bureau to change money to Uganda shillings  and then Visit some interesting and historical sites, including the Namugongo Martyrs Shrine, Kasubi Tombs, the Uganda Museum and of course the African Craft Village. Day 2: KAMPALA – MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK Uganda safari

Take breakfast early in the morning and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park.   This park lies at the Northern End of the Albertine Rift valley, where the bulky Bunyoro escarpment merges into the Vsat plains of the Acholiland. One of Uganda’s oldest conservation areas, Murchison falls National park was initially gazzatted as a game reserve  in 1926 to protect  a savannah that Winston Church hill described in 1907  as Kew Gardens and the Zoo combined on an unlimited scale.  This park has received many notable visitors including Winston Church Hillwho bicycled up the Nile corridor to the fals, followed by Theodre Roosevelt in 1909 during  a hunting safari . In 1951, the falls provided a back drop for Hamphery Bogart in John Huston’s famous movie, The African Queen which was filmed on location along the Murchison  Nile and on L. albert. British Royals have visited Murchison , The prince of Wales(laterEdward VII) in 1930 and the Queen Mother in 1959. The least happy celebrity visitor was ErnestHemingway in 1954 who literally dropped in. His intention was simply to overfly the waterfalls but his plane clipped an old telegraph  wire strung a across the gorge and cartwheeled into the riverine forest. Hemingway and his wife were rescued and taken to Butiaba where their rescue plane crashed on takeoof.  The park is bisected by the Victoria Nile which first races down 80km of white water before plunging 40m over the remnant rift valley at Murchison falls , the centerpiece of the park. The water fall was named  in 1864 by the explorer Sir Samuel Baker.  This Stretch provides one of Uganda’s most memorable wildlife spectacles. Regular  mammals include Giraffes, Elephants, Bush backs, water Bucks, buffaloes among other. Whie in water , Hippopotami, crocodiles and many birds are in plenty.  Enjoy a lunch stop in Masindi before we enter the park. We will visit the magnificent top of the  falls where you will enjoy and marvel at the mighty Nile. The famous waterfall is being forced into a seven meter crevice, to thunder 45 meters below in a series of pours This spectacular scenery can be viewed from different points up at the baler’s summit. Dinner and overnight at Red Chilli Rest Camp/ Sambiya river lodge.

Day 3: MURCHISON FALLS NATIONAL PARK
Take a cup of coffee of tea and  for an early morning game drive on the northern bank of the Nile, escorted by a ranger. If You Slept at the accommodation on the southern sector of the park, you will cross to Paraa and proceed for this drive in the  savannah wilderness. The  Game in this part of the park  includes the , buffaloes, Rothschild giraffe, elephant, Jackson hartebeest, oribis, lions, leopards, waterbucks and a variety of savannah woodland birds.  Return for mid morning breakfast and lunch and then we will go on a Nile cruise for game viewing at close quarters. Watch out for hippos as they sun bath, Crocodiles with their mouths open, elephants often at the bank of the river drinking water and young crocodiles lying lazy at the shores.

Day 4: MURCHISON FALLS – FORT PORTAL

Wake up very early for breakfast and pass through the Albertine escarpment to Fort Portal. The drive is almost eight hours but will provide you with some stunning views as you pass small African villages and banana plantations. The lovely town of Fort Portal rests in the shadow of the fabled Mountains of the Moon and is famous for the many tea plantations. Dinner and overnight at Rwenzori View Guesthouse.

Day 5: SEMLIKI NATIONAL PARK

Take breakfast we drive towards Semliki National Park. The scenic, winding road will lead us through lush vegetation and the foot hills of the mountains of the moon and offers you a magnificent view at the River Semliki and Congo. On arrival at this protected area, a ranger will accompany you on a beautiful nature walk through the Ituri Rainforest. Enjoy the peacefulness of the forest, look out for the rich birdlife at the swamp and boil an egg in the hot springs that have become an interesting natural attraction. It will be completed with a picnic lunch provided by the guide, while you explore the real Africa! Alternatively, you can be taken to Semliki Wildlife reserve for to view hot springs and Pygmies from where Later in the afternoon we return to the service Rwenzori View Guesthouse.

Day 6: KIBALE NATIONAL PARK & BIGODI SWAMP

This morning after breakfast, the forest opens it doors for a sensational chimp tracking. Kibale Forest is highly regarded for having the greatest variety and highest concentration of primates in East Africa. Enjoy a guided nature walk in the tropical rainforest in search of the wild chimpanzee, black-and-white colobus monkey, red-tailed monkey and many others. After a hearty lunch we transfer to the Bigodi Swamp for another, totally different swamp walk. The Bigodi Swamp Walk is a scheme of the local community and takes approximately two hours. The swamp is known for its rich diversity of birds and primates. Dinner and overnight at Primate Lodge Kibale/ Ndali Lodge / Mantana Luxury tented camps/ Mountains of The Moon.

Day 7: KIBALE – QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

Take a hearty breakfast and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park. It is a beautiful route  with beautiful scenes of the foot hills of the Mt Rwenzori  via Kasese, with the Rwenzori Mountains on your right side and the green valley on the left. A game drive en route to the accommodation in the middle of the national park gives us the chance to spot waterbucks, oribis, warthogs and other wildlife.  Check in  and relax as you wait for an early lunch before you head for the  boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, a natural canal between Lake Edward and Lake George. Expect encounters like  elephants, buffaloes and hundreds of hippos, this cruise will definitely be one of the highlights of your safari. Dinner and overnight at Institute of Ecology Hostel/ Hippos hill camp

Day 8: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

After a cup of coffee to warm up to warm up , today we begin with   a game drive to  the mating ground of the Uganda kobs in  search for lions, leopards , buffaloes,  elephants,  antelopes and many other wild animals in their natural habitat, before returning for lunch. In the afternoon you will have the chance to elongate your legs as we will visit the Maramagambo Forest for a nature walk through the tropical forest. It is known for the Blue Lake also known as Kimere Njojo and the Bats Cave. You will get the chance to have a close look at the bats and  if you are lucky the rock python and forest cobras, that prey  on the bats. The same walk will provide you with views of primates, different bird species and beautiful fauna. Dinner and overnight at Institute of Ecology Hostel/ Hippos hill camp

Day 9: QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK – BWINDI

After breakfast you will hike the Kyambura Wildlife.   You will drive through the grassland area,  to this  amazing volcanic  gorge of one hundred meters deep, covered with tropical rainforest. You will hike into the gorge of the Kyambura River in search of the wild chimpanzees. It is a beautiful walk through the river valley, home to many birds and butterfly species.
Later we will leave Queen Elizabeth National Park and head towards Bwindi. The scenic route runs through a verdant countryside while you pass traditional homesteads and farms. Pass through the Ishasha sector famous for tree climbing Lions before you proceed to Bwindi  for dinner and overnight at Buhoma Community Bandas.

Day 10: ANOTHER HIGHLIGHT OF THE UGANDA SAFARI: Gorilla Safari
Prepare for a meeting with the gentle apes of Bwindi! Especially hikers will love the tracking in the beautiful ecosystem of the park. It is difficult to predict how many hours you will hike; it may take two to eight hours. The hikes are strenuous; expect long distances in steep and muddy conditions, sometimes with rain overhead, before you encounter any gorillas. But it will definitely be worthwhile as you observe them closely while they eat, play and rest. A unique and memorable experience! For conservation purposes, time spent with the gorillas is limited to one hour. The ranger guide always briefs you on how to behave with these giant apes. Day 11: BWINDI – LAKE BUNYONYI

Take breakfast and go for village walk for a closer meeting with the local community. Learn about their way of living as you walk through coffee, tea and banana plantations. Afterwards we depart to Lake Bunyonyi, the deepest lake in Uganda. This area is often called “Little Switzerland of Uganda” and it boosts one of the most beautiful parts of the country. Relax or go for a canoe trip while you watch the beautiful sunset. Dinner and overnight at Bushara island Camp / Bunyonyi Overland Camp.

Day 12: LAKE BUNYONYI

After the challenging and strenuous hike in Bwindi, some relaxing moments on the shores of this peaceful lake are most welcome. The options here are birding, nature walks, swimming or canoeing (not included) Village walks. Dinner and overnight at Bushara island Camp / Bunyonyi Overland Camp.

Day 13: LAKE BUNYONYI – LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK

Take breakfast and drive to Lake Mburo National Park which takes us about four hours with lunch en route. As we enter the park and head towards the accommodation it is likely that you will see some wildlife, like impalas, warthogs, zebras, topis, and buffaloes. After checking in you will go on a canoe ride on the lake and enjoy the rich birdlife and the hippos that are cooling off. Dinner and overnight at Rwonyo Camp.

Day 14: LAKE MBURO NATIONAL PARK – KAMPALA

Early start of the day as we will go for a nature walk guided by a ranger to one of the salt licks trails. Lake Mburo is the only national park where you can experience a safari on foot. After breakfast we transfer to Kampala with a stop at the equator for photos or shopping. Arrival late in the afternoon in Kampala. Overnight at Holiday Express Hotel

Day 15: DEPARTURE

Enriched with an experience of a lifetime and unforgettable memories you will say goodbye to the Pearl of Africa. Depending on the time of departure you will be transferred to the airport for your flight back home. We are looking forward to seeing you again.
