Kibale Forest National Park.

This is a tropical rain forest national park, with over 250 tree species. Its major eco-system includes the wet land, grassland and forests. The park covers an area of 776 sq.km and its located in the western part of the country about 330 km. from Kampala.


This park is a home to 13 primate species including the very localized Red Columbus and L’Hoests monkeys. The major activities here is the chimp trekking, come and see these delightful apes, more closely related to humans than ant other creature in the world.


As for the birders, here you will be treated to more than 336 species of birds including the blue headed sun birds among others. For the botanists and butterfly lovers, the good network of forest trails will delight you.


Other things you will enjoy here will include among others the beautiful crater lakes that lay between fort portal and kibale national park .
